Uniform

It is a requirement of Holy Family School that students adhere to the uniform requirements at all times. Students are required to wear full uniform 3 days a week and sports uniform 2 days a week. Your child's teacher will inform you of the sports days.

Student Appearance

All aspects of student's appearance are gender inclusive i.e. apply to both girls and boys.

  • Student’s hair should be clean and neat; fashionable extremes are not permitted. Examples of hairstyles not permitted include rat’s tails, dreadlocks, and Mohawks.
  • Shoulder-length hair or longer must be tied back.
  • Only natural, all-over hair colour is acceptable.
  • The Principal or Assistant Principal will contact parents if other hairstyles are of concern.
  • Accessories are to match school colours. ()Navy, Light BLue and White)
  • No jewellery may be worn other than small, plain (silver or gold, no colour) ear studs, a watch or medical alert identification. Only one stud per ear (i.e. earlobe)
  • Nail polish and make-up in any form are not part of the school uniform.
  • Students out of uniform are required to bring a note from home on the day.
  • If a student is out of uniform, parents may be contacted and requested to commit to resolving the problem.
  • The only acceptable trousers and shorts are tailored navy slacks or shorts. No ‘cargo’, ‘baggy’ or casual trousers/shorts allowed.
  • Shoelaces are to match the colour of the school shoe. Ie. Black laces with black shoes, white laces with white sneakers.
  • There is no uniform mix and matching- eg. No mixing summer and winter uniforms, sport and normal uniform

The school has two suppliers of new uniforms:

  • Working Gear Schools, Fyshwick (online shopping available)
  • Lowes School Wear, Tuggeranong;
  • Athlete's foot Hyperdome

The school also has a second-hand uniform shop (Clothing Pool). Please visit the Front Office to access the second-hand uniform shop. There is a wide variety of pre-owned uniforms available for purchase at much reduced prices.

If you have any unwanted uniforms you would like to donate to the Clothing Pool, they can be dropped off through the front office or directly to the Clothing Pool on Friday afternoons.

Un-named lost property is donated to the clothing pool.

Uniform hats and beanies may also be purchased from the Front Office for $13.00 each.
