Primary School Enrolment

Holy Family accepts enrolment applications primarily from Gowrie, Fadden, Macarthur, Gilmore and Chisholm residents and siblings of current students. If you reside outside of these suburbs please contact the front office to discuss options.

2025 ACT Enrolment Period- 29 April - 31 May 2024

Parents enrolling their children in a Catholic school in the ACT for 2025 are asked to complete an official enrolment form before 31 May 2024. Applications received after the due date can only be considered if vacancies exist.

How to Enrol

Step 1 – Complete an online application form and ensure all details are correct

 To complete the form, all families must provide the following:

  • Student identification – birth certificate (not commemorative) or passport
  • Proof of residential address, such as rates notice, electricity, water or telephone bill
  • School Report from the previous school (not applicable for Kindergarten)
  • A non-refundable application fee of $50 applies to ACT Primary Schools 

And if applicable to your child or family, please also provide the following:

  • For students born outside Australia - Visa grant notice for permanent and temporary visa-holders – for both student and parent(s) / legal guardian(s)
  • For Catholic Families – Certificate of Baptism
  • For students with additional learning needs - any medical reports and/or other assessment reports
  • Family Law, Personal Protection Order or Other Relevant Court Orders (if applicable)

Step 2 – A meeting with the school Principal, Kate Markcrow, may be required and we will contact you if this is the case.

Step 3 – You will receive an email from us on  Friday 21 June notifying you of the outcome of your application.

Step 4 – If your application has been successful, we ask that you accept the position by completing the online Parent Commitment Agreement by Friday 22 July.

Step 5 - We will contact you regarding the induction process.

Submission of an application does not guarantee a place in your school of choice. An offer for your first choice of ACT Catholic Primary School will depend on your priority enrolment area.

Kindergarten Classes

As with all ACT schools, children are generally enrolled in Kindergarten 2025 if they turn 5 before 30 April 2025. Some parents choose to keep their children at home for an extra year if they were born close to the cut-off date and are perhaps not quite ready for full-time schooling.
