Each year, the Catholic Education Office announces the official enrolment period for its schools. For 2019 enrolment the Enrolment period is Monday 7 May to Friday 25 May 2018. Holy Family Primary school will be holding an Open School Session for Kindergarten to Year 6. The Open Session will be in the form of a guided tour around the school with our current Year 6 leaders and then an informal meeting with the Principal, Assistant Principal and Parent Ambassador in the school staff room.

Holy Family accepts enrolment applications from Gowrie, Fadden, Macarthur, Gilmore and Chisholm residents and siblings of current students.

TUESDAY 8 MAY 2018           Open Morning 9.30am to 11:00pm

                                              Open Afternoon 4.00pm to 5:30pm

Parents wishing to enrol their children at this school should obtain an enrolment form (they are available from the school 8.30am - 4.00pm Monday - Friday or at any CEO primary school in Canberra, it can be downloaded from the Catholic Education website at ACT Schools Enrolment page) and forward it to the school within the enrolment period. A $25 lodgment fee applies to EACH Enrolment form submitted.

When submitting an enrolment form, parents must provide the school with a copy of the child’s baptismal certificate (where applicable), a copy of the birth certificate or other proof of age and Australian residency and the child's Immunisation record. (We accept children only if they have turned five by April 30 in the year of enrolment.)

While the school will accept children from families that are not Catholic, it is expected that parents of such children accept the values of the school and participate in the Religious Education Program and liturgical celebrations.

At the end of the enrolment period, all applications will be considered and the Principal will make offers of places to as many children as possible.

Kindergarten is an exciting and rewarding year for everyone in the family! At Holy Family, we strive to make Kindergarten children and their parents feel like school is an extension of their own family.

As with all ACT schools, children are generally enrolled in Kindergarten 2019  if they turn 5 before 30 April, 2019. Some parents choose to keep their children at home for an extra year if the child was born close to the cut-off date and is perhaps not quite ready for full-time schooling.

When forming Kindergarten classes, the school works in liaison with teachers at the Holy Family Early Learning Centre so that the children will be placed with some friends and other children whom they know at semester 2 enrolment interviews parents discuss any information they may have in placing their child into a class. Classes are not based on ability groups, but rather a balance of gender and age. We do not have a strict policy of placement for twins, and are guided by parents' requests in this area.
