Action Research Projects

All staff participated in an action research in Term 3 of this year. Two of these have investigated the use of iPads to engage boys and two have evaluated the place and purpose of constructive Apps for students in K –Year 2.

Term 4 Teaching Programmes

Term Four teaching and learning programs have evolved to incorporate the use of iPads as not just a platform for learning.  An exemplary sample of this is evident in the Year 6 Transdisciplinary unit ‘Change your mind’. Students will use iPads to undertake the following task: You have been hired by Questacon as the new Science Communicator. In pairs, you are to create an experiment that demonstrates a physical or chemical change, including the type of change. You will need to write out a scientific report and present this information and experiment using the iPad application ‘Explain Everything’. You will showcase your presentations on the iPads, as well as demonstrating the experiment in real time.
