First Eucharist

This sacrament is often referred to as First (Holy) Communion.  It is through this sacrament that we bring children and their families to a fuller understanding of Jesus becoming present through the bread and wine that is offered during the Eucharist or the Mass as many of us refer to it as.  It is during the Liturgy of the Eucharist that the bread and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Jesus.   We also hear God’s Word proclaimed through the scriptures, this is referred to as the Liturgy of the Word.  The program of preparation also focuses on the value of the parish as a community and how the children are called to participate within that community.

Enrolment for the sacraments of Reconciliation (usually Year 2), First Eucharist (usually Year 3) and Confirmation (Yr 6) took place earlier in the year. For those families who attended the Enrolment Evening a reminder that the online booking system opens on 27th June 2011 and closes on 25th July 2011.

Families whose child attends a school outside our parish boundaries, e.g. Marist Junior College or St Edmund's Junior College are encouraged to enrol through their own parish.
